I made these brooches during an artist residency I did in Holland in the spring. I went on my residency with ideas and thoughts about things that have wings, fly, and move forward in life. From the window in front of my workbench the garden went from rainy April to May outdoor dinners. Flowers bloomed in purples,oranges, and pinks – lilacs, hydrangeas, and poppies. I loved watching the transformation of the garden. I loved watching a flower bloom and getting excited see the changes each day.
